Providing spiritual care for those in care facilities

Through our Nursing Home Outreach, staff, volunteers, and students reach out to those in local nursing homes with unconditional love and a message of hope – Jesus Christ! Through this ministry, lives are forever changed.
Each week, we visit anywhere from 600 to 650 people who are living in senior care centers and nursing homes in the St. Louis area. At each gathering, volunteers share songs, scriptures, and testimonies to encourage and teach the residents about salvation, healing, and the Holy Spirit.
Serving the “Forgotten Generation”
One in five adults over the age of 65 will spend some part of their remaining years in a senior care facility. Many of them rarely see visitors – their families are busy or live far away, many of their friends have already passed on. They may feel lonely and overlooked. We don’t want them to be forgotten.
- In 2010, we ministered to over 27,581 in nursing homes across the area.
- Staff and volunteers also made over 57,000 visits to area homes, nursing and senior communities, including children outreaches
Nursing home residents face many challenges – from pain and ill health, to depression and loneliness, to coping with the deaths of loved ones and facing their own mortality. We want to be there with God’s love.
The goal of our Nursing Home Ministry is to share the Gospel with those needing salvation and uplift and encourage those who have a relationship with the Lord. Just taking the time to sit with someone and listen to them share stories of when they were young can mean the world to someone in a nursing home or senior care facility.
